Candle Care

By following our care tips you'll be able to enjoy your candle for longer:

Keep your wick trimmed to 0.5cm to prevent smoking or mushrooming. To light the candle and hold at an angle, with wooden wicks allow the flame to travel across wick. Wooden wicks may fail to light first time, or the candle may not burn very strongly. If this happens, extinguish the flame and trim the wick when cooled then relight it.

Make sure that the first burn is a couple of hours to enable the wax to melt to the edge of the container, this usually takes around 1 to 2 hours for small candles but can take longer. If you don’t allow your candle to burn to the container edge on the first burn, the candle will ‘tunnel’ down the wick and will not last as long. If this happens, the wick can eventually drown in the wax and won't stay lit.  For safety, always follow the care instructions on the base of your candle.

A candle is a special thing, igniting the flame is a signal to find a quiet moment and take some time out.

Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Burning a candle for too long will cause it to burn faster so it won't last as long.
